Samantha hit what she considered a milestone birthday this year, reaching the big 5. We had immediate family over for a party, and Sam had a great time.

A bit of an explanation about the cake... it was supposed to be a mermaid, a la Ariel from "The Little Mermaid". The only problem was that her tail slid off of the cake overnight, leaving it in a bit of a mess...
