Samantha had a soccer game on the final Saturday of September. It was downright frigid, as you can tell by Sam's hat, gloves, sweat shirt and sweat pants. Although it didn't rain during her game, it had before and did after, and the wind was certainly no help in keeping us warm. Her team wore red today.

Tyler's game yesterday was postponed (for reasons unknown to us), but he had another game planned this weekend as well. He got to play in October's first game of the year. This day was a polar opposite from yesterday, as Tyler started out with a turtleneck on under his jersey, but was forced to shed it because he was too hot. Yesterday we needed winter coats and gloves, today we didn't even need a coat. Typical Michigan weather. Tyler's team was in red today, and their game was another laugher as they won 7 to 1 (or 8 to 1, I lost count).

After a weekend off because the kids didn't have any games originally scheduled (and we went camping) and another that got snowed out, we finally got to play another game on Saturday, October 21st. Samantha had the only game of the day, and they started out strong. They took an early lead, but fell behind when Sam started being the only defender. Anyway, they had fun playing, and that is what it is all about. Her team wore blue today.

Our Sunday games were muddy games. Tyler's field was half mud and half grass, so he got a little dirty today. His team enjoyed another blowout win, and he played goalie once more without giving up a score (and seeing little action). Although it didn't rain during his game, it was pretty cold. His team was blue today.

Samantha's game today was played in miserable conditions. The first half of the game was cold and windy, but just before halftime the rain moved in as well. I think that the kids would have been happy to quit, but they played on. We huddled under our umbrella's, barely able to watch them as the wind drove the rain right into our faces. My Dad almost got taken out by an umbrella that blew clear across the field (during play, no less. I am glad the kids weren't in its path at the time). Needless to say, we have pictures and video of the first half, but none of the second. Once again, Sam's team is in blue.
