Home Up

We caught a break in the weather Saturday, enough that we were able to go into St. Ignace to wander through the craft show and a few shops. We also drove south across the Mackinac Bridge into Mackinaw City to wander through the "mall." This is something that we used to do after the bridge walk, but we decided to do our browsing early this year. The kids gravitated to the playground once again this year (especially the little two), so I decided to snap some pictures of them.We also went to check out the fish prices and to scout a possible campground for next summer while we were down there.

Tyler in the ladybug. He still fits, but just barely.

Jay on the tractor once again, with Tyler and Drew on the other bug.

Jayden coming down the slide.

Although we checked in and set up on Friday, September 3rd, I was unable to take any pictures thanks to the rain that came (thankfully just after we finished setting up, although Dad & Mom had to set up in a downpour). I managed to take a few pictures today, however, in between a few sprinkles that visited us off and on throughout the afternoon.

St. Ignace KOA

The street side of Dad & Mom's camper.

The curb side of Dad & Mom's camper, with their truck nestled in the trees.

The trees between our sites. The trees came in handy as protection from the sprinkles while Gary and Rodney cooked the fish and French fries.

A closer look at the turkey fryers set up to cook dinner.

Rod & Tara's camper, wedged in between the trees.

The slide cleared the trees OK, although a couple of small branches did brush against the window.

The curb side of Rod & Tara's camper. More trees close to the front, although there was enough room to walk between them and the camper if you desired to do so.

This campground didn't have any 30amp plugs in these boxes - 50amp only. This meant a trip to the store to purchase an adapter, or run off 120v all weekend.

Tyler thought we should have stopped and bought some koi for the fire pit - aka the koi pond.

Rodney's freshly painted refrigerator (the drip marks on the top are not part of the design!).

Gary & Terry's fire pit had drained quite a bit during the day today - it was completely full yesterday.

A look behind the campers. There is  a large rock right beside the water spout, limiting the amount of room to back the camper in further.
