Samantha's team fell behind early in this game, but fought
back to take a two goal lead a little bit later. Play continued through a brief
but heavy downpour, and a couple of goals later the game was finished with a 4-2
victory for the Lollipop Girls (their chosen team name). The opposition came
close to tying it up at one point and making it a 3-3 game, but the goal was
disallowed due to an offside violation. Thankfully Sam's team scored again
later, so the waved off goal wouldn't have affected the outcome (in fact, the
girls all thought the goal counted and played as though they were tied). Sam
didn't score today, but she continues her aggressive play and did have an
excellent scoring chance on a breakaway down the side - unfortunately she shot a
little too early (in my opinion) and it sailed wide of the goal. Regardless, we
are very pleased with the effort she continues to put into her game.
