Game 6

Home Up

OK, so I screwed up and didn't manage to take any pictures of the first win of the season for Tyler's team. With Tara on another field and me helping coach (first base coach, nothing too fancy) I have a hard time fitting picture opportunities into the game. Of course I expected Tyler to play more than the two innings in the outfield than he did, so that also cut down on my opportunities for pictures. The coach has told them from day one that they would sit for two innings at a time, but that didn't hold true today. Tyler didn't seem devastated about it though, as we was just happy to finally get a "W" under his belt.

Aside from the two innings in the outfield, Tyler also got up to bat two times. He walked in his first at bat, only getting one good pitch to swing at (which he fouled off) and another called strike that was a tad questionable. Unfortunately he wasn't so lucky in his next at bat, striking out once again. I haven't kept track of his total for the season, but I would assume it is up near 10 or more at this point, with only one hit to show for it. Some day his luck has to change, right? The rest of his team finally managed to string together some hits today, which helped us tie a season high in runs scored, while the defense looked improved as well (although there was a few mental errors that could have prevented a run or two from scoring had they not been made). If the mental errors can be eliminated and the bats keep on making contact with the ball, there is no reason that a winning streak shouldn't happen for this team, based on the close games we have played to date.
