UM Spring Game

Home Up

Like last spring, we drove to Ann Arbor to attend the University of Michigan's Spring Game. We decided to skip the locker room tour this year, instead opting to drive down a little bit later so that we would arrive in time for the alumni flag-football game and the Maize vs. Blue scrimmage. We met up with our friends, Chris & Deanna, as well as their children, and made our way into the stadium. We froze our butts off, but at least we were smart enough to take blankets this year! We didn't end up sticking around for the whole scrimmage, though (why couldn't this have been one of the 80 degree days that we had earlier in the week?).

After leaving the scrimmage was over, we headed to the M Go Blue Shop to see what was on sale this year. I found some nice alumni t-shirts, Tara found a sweatshirt, and the kids each found a shirt and/or hat. Also like last year, we stopped to eat lunch at Red Robin. After eating , we headed back home to relax for the remainder of our day.

University of Michigan Spring Game - 04-17-2010

A look out at Michigan Stadium, with the new press box and suites.

Tyler, Samantha, Drew, Tara, and Jayden waiting for the game to begin.

Drew was really happy to be there.

The colors flying high. Go Blue!

Jayden trying to keep warm before the games begin.

The guy in the middle is obviously a successful graduate of the Michigan training program...

Former quarterback John Navarre returned to play in the alumni game.

The guy in the white shirt and funky hat in the center of the picture is former basketball fab-fiver Jimmy King.

Drew and Tara had fun horsing around tickling each other.

Some of the current players warming up on the field.

Sam's hair got pretty messy!

Jayden thought it was funny having her hat pulled over her head...

...so of course Drew had to try it out as well.

The famous M Club banner.

The UofM tradition is for the players to run onto the field and jump up to touch the banner.

Denard Robinson, #16, appears to have the lead to start for the Wolverines in the fall at this point.

Last year's starter, #5 Tate Forcier, was the second quarterback on the field.

This years highly touted freshman QB is Devin Gardner, #7.
