Game 1

Home Up

Samantha's team is not the youngest in the minor leagues anymore, as most of the same players returned to the team this season. That means that the majority of the team has a year of experience under their belt coming in to the year. It didn't look like that was the case today, however, as pitching and errors led to a lot of runs being scored by the opposition. As is always the case, walks can kill a team. Today the entire Rays team struggled to consistently get the ball across the plate, and in the end it cost them a chance at a victory. Sam played ok today, although she dropped a fly ball while playing centerfield, and she also bobbled a play at second base. She struck out in her only official at-bat today, but she did earn two walks in her other plate appearances. She even came across the plate to score the games final run. Unfortunately it all added up to a 13-8 defeat, their first of the season. Hopefully they can pull things together for the rest of the season, otherwise it may be a long year!

I have to pass along my thanks to me beautiful wife Tara for splitting time at each of today's games today, and taking pictures for me as well. Thanks dear!
