While I didn't get to see Samantha play today's game, I
was told that she had a strong game both in net and on offense. Unfortunately
she didn't have anything to show for her hard work - no victory and no goals
scored. While playing goalkeeper in the first half she made several nice saves
but gave up a single goal on a breakaway shot by the WAZA player. She moved to
offense in the second half, and Tara said that Sam had a great game here. She
didn't score, as I said, but I was told that she did take a vocal leadership
role in the game. Unfortunately her keeper replacement (playing in goal for only
her second time this year, and first indoor game where the ball moves much
faster) let in three goals in the second half, while Sam and her teammates
couldn't get one ball past the WAZA goalkeeper, leading to a 4-0 defeat in their
first indoor game of the season.
