Game 1

Home Up

Game 1 of the Canton Cup got off to an early start on Saturday morning, as the game kicked off at 7:00am. This meant that we had to get up at 5:30am to leave the hotel on time, and her teammates who stayed at home had to get up even early. I have to admit that I was really worried about this early start time, but it actually seemed to work out well. Each of the girls came out full of energy and playing their best. It showed throughout the game, as the Blaze girls never really threatened to overtake the La Forza White Ice girls. Although Sam didn't score today, she did have one nice shot on goal that missed wide to the right. She also made some nice plays throughout the game. In fact, the only real issue that we faced over the course of the game was a bit of rain in the first half. The final result of the early game was a 6-2 victory, setting them up on course to make a run in the tournament.
