Game 1

Home Up

Samantha's basketball team had their first game of the season, after only practicing together three times. Although nobody really knew what to expect, it turned out to be a very good game. Sam's team had the lead at halftime, 10-8, and it was a 2-point game for most of the second half, with the lead switching from team to team. The other team's best player got on a hot streak, stealing the ball several times on defense and making layups on the other end, putting his team ahead for good late in the game. It didn't hurt the other team that the player I am referring to is the varsity basketball coaches son, who also happened to play on Tyler's 8th grade Cage basketball team this past summer. He probably should be playing in a more advanced league somewhere else, but here he is. Anyway, Sam had a very good game today. She scored 6 points, which put her in a tie as her teams leader for the day. She also played good, aggressive defense and grabbed a bunch of rebounds. If she keeps up her hard work she should have a very good season.
