Game 6

October 6th, 2013

Since I wasn't able to attend today's game (work), I have to rely on Tara's updates along the way to fill in the game information. The La Forza girls scored early today, grabbing a 1-0 lead within the first few minutes of game action. Tara was a little frustrated with the defense early in the game, as they tend to have a habit of kicking the ball either out of bounds or down the field without a real target in mind when they do so, but it was early so perhaps they were just trying to get settled in to the game. The 1-0 lead lasted through halftime, when Samantha went to play goal. The La Forza girls got another quick goal to start a half, giving them a 2-0 lead. Over the next several minutes of action Sam only was forced to face a couple of shots. It was a pass back from a teammate (which she cannot play) that gave her trouble though. First, she missed the kick on the slippery turf, and nobody on her team was able to get to it which gave the other team an easy goal opportunity, making the score 2-1. We managed to snag one more goal, which Tara attributed partially to a really nice kick and partially to the wind aiding it. Either way it counts, and I'll take it and the 3-1 victory! That evens the girls record up this fall to 2 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses, with two games to play.

I also must apologize for the lack of pictures... Tara was doing a good job of keeping me updated, but she isn't nearly as interested in photographing the action as I am!
