    The first game for the ladies on the Avengers team was against the Jason Richardson Lady Ballers. If you are a fan of the NBA, Michigan State, or basketball in general that name might sound familiar. Jason Richardson played his college basketball at MSU, winning the national championship in 2000. He was on the NBA all-rookie team in 2002, won the NBA slam dunk competition in 2002 and 2003, and led the league in 3-point field goals in 2008. He is currently playing for the Philadelphia 76'ers. He grew up in Saginaw, which is where the Lady Ballers team is based. Oh, and his daughter plays for them...

    With all that in mind, this was the competition for the Avengers in the first game of the day. Surprisingly enough this was the girls best game of the tournament. They battled hard throughout the contest, and their major shortfall was turnovers. When they took care of the ball they managed to score, and defensively that played pretty well. Unfortunately they still lost the game by a score of 33-21, but it was their highest scoring and narrowest margin of the weekend so far. Samantha's major impact came on the defensive end once again, both guarding her player and rebounding the basketball. She has had some open shots over the course of the weekend, but so far has come up just short on them.
