    Samantha joined her team for their first outdoor game of the season, a home game against the Midland SC Fusion 02 Green team. While the girls looked a little sluggish to start the game, they managed to hold off the Fusion team's offensive attack to take a 0-0 score into halftime. Sam started the game in goal, and while she didn't face any serious scoring threats, she was able to make the saves on the few shots that came her way. She moved to the field in the second half, and the sluggish play continued. It appeared as only a few girls seemed intent on making something happen, while the rest were just going through the paces. Needless to say, with a backup goalie and a lackluster effort, things fell apart in the second half. The Fusion scored first, taking a 1-0 lead, and they never looked back. Although they weren't needed, they tacked on two more goals before the game was out, while the La Forza girls never really mounted a consistent offensive attack. The girls are now starting off their season with a loss, with seven more games to make up for their poor effort today.
