    Today's game marked the end of the season for the Holly 2 Junior team, but also the end of an era for Samantha. Today was the last time she will put on a Holly Little League uniform. After nine years, it is time to close the book on this chapter of her sporting career. Sam has gotten to experience many great things through the years and was able to become very good friends with some of her teammates. While she will miss those opportunities, she will never forget them.

    On to the game! This was a rematch between the same two teams that met in Sam's first game with this team, and that game resulted in an ugly blowout loss for Holly. Today's game was much closer, and for most of the game it appeared as though the Holly kids would be able to pull of the upset. Sam did her part to help by getting two hits today, driving in an RBI, and scoring a run. She played centerfield for most of the game along with an inning at second. Unfortunately the Holly kids weren't able to hold on to their early lead, and a late rally left them on the wrong end of a 15-11 score. Even though this was a rough season, and Sam only played part of it with the team, there was a drastic improvement between her first game with them and her last. I don't expect next season to be this rough for this team!
