    Samantha returned to the field today with the Michigan Impact soccer team, her first game action with them since her return to Michigan. Although Sam was playing her first game with them this season, the rest of the team had already played together in the Waterfront Invitational tournament. Today the Impact team jumped out to a big lead, scoring the first two goals of the contest. The Rush team got on the scoreboard next with a fluke goal after Sam had a kick deflect off another girls legs to a wide open teammate in front of the net who was able to knock the ball past the goalkeeper. The Impact struck back, however, with a goal of their own that deflected off of a Rush defender's head and into the goal. The second half was all Impact, as they tacked on two more goals to grab a 5-1 lead, which would hold up until the final whistle. Sam didn't score today, but she had a couple of good chances. If she keeps it up she will find the back of the net soon.
