The Holly Bronchos girls came into their third and final game of
the day with a lot at stake - they were playing the host school, and
the winner would get second place (the first place team, Swartz
Creek, had already been decided). Thankfully the Holly girls were up
for the challenge, as they dominated the ball for the majority of
the contest. Holly got on the board first 9 minutes in to the
contest and added an insurance goal with 95 seconds to play in the
first half. They had a chance to add on to their lead in the second,
but they weren't able to convert any of those chances in the second
half. Montrose got one good chance in the second, and they were able
to convert to narrow the gap to one. Thankfully the Holly defense
was up to the task for the rest of the game, hanging on to their
lead to secure the victory. The win moved Holly to 2-1 for the
tournament and secured second place for the tournament, and it also
gave Holly Soccer their first trophy (or so I've been told). Not too
bad, girls! Congratulations on the wins, and lets keep the momentum
going! Go Holly! |
