Game 9

Samantha found herself starting in goal today, as the team's usual keeper was late in arriving to the game. Thankfully her Liverpool teammates dominated play against the last place team in the league, and Sam only had to face a few shots on goal. She managed to keep the Vortex team off the scoreboard during her time in net, and was relieved when the regular keeper arrived.

Once in the field, Sam helped her team maintain possession of the ball through the majority of the first half. The girls also dominated play in the second half, but a late, long shot snuck past the Liverpool keeper, giving the Vortex team a 1-0 lead. The Liverpool team got off several good shots on goal, but just couldn't sneak one past to tie the game. When the final whistle was blown, the Liverpool girls fell by the 1-0 score.
