Game 4

This afternoons game was a makeup game of a rainout earlier in the week, and featured two teams that have played strong in the early part of the season. Both teams looked good early today, as the starting pitchers dueled it out. Drew and his Holly Grey teammates gave up 2 runs in the top of the first, but answered back with 3 of their own to grab the lead. Drew batted third in the order, and was walked before coming around to score for his team. Drew didn't get a chance to bat in the next two innings, and the pitchers found their groove and kept the scoring to a minimum. Holly Blue was able to score a single run in the third to know things up at 3 runs each, and after that things went downhill for the Holly Grey team. They struggled in the 4th inning, giving up the lead for good as Holly Blue nearly reached the per-inning max for runs allowed. Drew took another walk in this inning, but wound up getting out at second base on a force play. Each team managed a run in the fifth, but other than that those innings were rather uneventful. The sixth inning wound up being the final inning, and Drew was inserted to pitch for the first time this season part way through. He struggled at times, and wound up walking in a run and letting a few runs score via hits. He wasn't terrible, but he definitely has room for improvement on the mound. Even though the Holly Grey team couldn't score enough runs to tie the game up, they still took their final at-bats of the game. Drew hit a single in his final plate appearance, driving in a run. He stole second base and was moved to third on a hit by a teammate. He was later thrown out at home.
