Tonight’s the Holly Grey team faced off against the Waterford 1 team, in what appeared to be an evenly matched game. Holly grabbed the early lead, but Waterford worked their way back into the game in the top of the second to tie things up at 2 runs apiece. Holly stormed back with three of their own, and then 6 more in the third inning to open up a 9 run lead. Drew swung the bat well tonight, and connected in both the second and third innings for hits, with a fielder’s choice allowing him to advance to second base in the second and a double in the third, after getting two strikes. He attempted to steal third base, but was tagged out. With the big lead, the Holly coaches eased up a bit in the fourth and fifth innings, getting some of their better players some rest. Drew batted a couple more times, getting another hit to second and drawing a walk in the fifth inning. By the time the game was complete, the result was a 17-9 win for the boys in Grey. Way to go Holly!
