Game 9

This game found us at a new location than the typical KRC fields, as they plated today's contest on the ball fields at Sorensen park. Holly Maroon has several players on the roster that Drew has played with at various times throughout his HLL career. Although these two teams had already played before, this game featured a starting pitcher who wasn’t in attendance for the last game. Tonight our team was not quite sure how to manage the offensive challenges that the Maroon teams pitchers were dishing out. The first two innings, both teams failed to give up any runs. Drew did his best to break up the 0-0 tie, but the hit was snagged at first on a line drive, ending the top of the second. In the bottom, Holly Grey couldn’t keep up the pace on the mound, walking several players and giving up key base hits, bringing the score to a 7-0 after three. Drew faced off with the Maroon pitcher once more, and obtained a base hit. In the process of the hit, another player was caught at second base, ending the inning. Both teams managed to squeak a run (or two) across the plate, but in the end it wasn't enough for Holly Greay, as the game ended with a score of 8-2, with them on the wrong end of things.
