Game 2

After suffering a loss in the first game of the tournament, the FireCats were in desperate need of a win in game #2 against the Cheektowaga Warriors. The FireCats got off to the start they wanted, scoring first barely two minutes into the opening period. The lead didn't last long, however, and the Warriors scored the evener a mere 8 seconds later. The two teams settled in to a back and forth affair after the quick goal exchange, but it was the Warriors who managed to score next, gaining their first lead of the contest with two and half minutes to go in the first. The FireCats weren't going to go away easy, and they snuck one past the goalie with only 2.9 seconds left on the clock to tie the game at two goals apiece.

The FireCats would regain their lead after just over two minutes into the second. They managed to hang on to the lead a little longer this time, before another power play came back to bite them, with the Warriors tying things up once again just past the 8 minute mark. Those would end up being the only two goals of the period, and the third with start with the two teams tied at 3-3.

After scoring first in the previous two periods, the FireCats allowed the first goal in the third, as they fell behind for the second time this game after an early Warriors goal. This time it was the FireCats turn to come back, and they scored the tying goal less than three minutes later, knotting the score at 4-4. Once again, it was the Warriors retaking the lead, scoring a goal to make it 5-4 with just under five to play. They were able to ice it with a sixth goal with just 42 seconds remaining, ending the game with a 6-4 score in favor of the Warriors.

The loss dropped Drew and his FireCats teammates to 0-2 in the tournament, all but eliminating their chances of making it to the finals in Buffalo.
