Drew and his Novi FireCats teammates took to the ice tonight at
home against the Ann Arbor Wolves in their first game of the regular
season. What a wild game it would be, as each team took turns
scoring goals in the first period, with Novi getting on the board
first. Thankfully they were also able to get on the scoreboard last
as well, and they headed to the second period with a 3-2 lead. The
second period was all FireCats, as they slowed down the pace of play
and controlled the puck for the majority of the time. They also
added on two more goals, giving them a 5-2 lead that they surely
would maintain through the rest of the game, right?
The third period was quite the contrast fro the first, as it was
Ann Arbor who controlled play most of this period. What appeared to
be a game that might be a blowout turned into quite the nail biter,
as the Wolves would handily outscore Novi in the period, by a 4-2
score. Thankfully that was enough to overtake or even tie the
FireCats on the scoreboard, and they would be able to walk away with
a 7-6 victory. An exciting start to the season for sure! |
