Jayden's softball team kicked off their season today in memorable fashion. The first inning was a little tortuous, as both teams worked to get their feet under themselves and get used to taking on game competition. Both teams ended up scoring the maximum 5 runs each in the first inning. The second inning was a little more even, as Hartland scored 3 in their half of the inning to grab the lead, while Holly was only able to muster enough runs to make it an 8-7 ballgame. Things started to go Holly's way in the third, as they were able to shut down Hartland's bats in the top half of the inning. They also managed some timely hits that allowed them to drive in the maximum 5 runs once more, giving them the 12-8 lead. There was just enough time to start another inning, but once again the Holly girls were able to keep Hartland off the scoreboard, securing the victory in game number one!
