Game 8

The Holly 1 (Purple) girls were pumped up about today's game, as they would be facing their friends and classmates on the Holly 2 (Pink) team. Although these two teams were at opposite ends of the league standings - Holly 1 was in first place, Holly 2 in last place coming into the game - the records wouldn't matter in today's game. The Holly Purple girls took the field first, while the Pink team did their damage at the plate. They would go on to score the maximum five runs during their time at-bat. Once it was time for the Purple team to bat, they did their best to match the Pink teams output. Unfortunately they came up just a bit short, heading into the second inning trailing by a score of 5-4. Both teams went on to plate the maximum 5 runs in the second inning, as they pitching struggled all around. The Holly Purple team put their ace pitcher on the mound to start the third, and she kept the Holly Pink team off the base paths. The Purple team filled the bases in their half of the inning, and scored four times, including one forced in when Jayden was walked. They scored 4 runs, which was enough to give them a 13-10 lead heading into what would be the final inning. The Pink girls just couldn't keep up with the Purple pitcher, as they were once again blanked. Holly Purple didn't need to take their final at-bats, and the game ended with them taking a three run victory, remaining undefeated on the season.
