Game 1

Jayden played in her first travel soccer game today, and she realized just how much of a step up this is from the competition she faced in AYSO. Thankfully the majority of her teammates are more experienced with this level of play, and they knew how to handle the action on the field.

Liverpool got on the board first, grabbing the 1-0 lead fairly early in the first half. The Fury team fought back, though, knotting things up moments later. The Liverpool girls dominated the rest of the half after giving up the tying goal, going on to score three unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead into halftime.

The second half didn't start the way the Liverpool girls wanted it to, as the gave up two quick goals to the Fury team, cutting the lead to 4-3 and bringing the parents watching along the sideline to the edge of their seats. It looked as though the Liverpool girls were coasting a bit early in the half, but they were able to pick up their pace of play and answer back with two goals of their own. This gave them their three goal cushion back, which they were able to hold until the final whistle.

Jayden spent the majority of the game playing defense, but she also saw some time at forward in the second half. She got a nice chance at a goal with a shot that ended up right in the keepers arms. The victory gave Jay her first victory as a Liverpool member, and it was one to remember!
