Samantha and her FC Sarasota teammates hosted the 2001 WHYSA
Kicks team this morning for a rematch of the September 9th contest,
which the FC girls won by a 3-1 Score. The Sarasota girls got off to
a good start once again, scoring on only their second shot of the
game to grab the early lead. The Kicks girls answered back a short
time later with a goal of their own, however, making it a 1-1 tie on
their second shot as well. From that point on, however, the Sarasota
squad would dominate, pelting the WHYSA net with shots throughout
the first half. They would score another goal midway through to
reclaim their one goal lead, then would add an insurance goal
shortly before the half ended to take a 3-1 lead into the break.
Although FC Sarasota didn't get as many shots on goal in the second
half as they did in the first, they made sure that the shots they
did get were quality scoring chances. They would score twice more in
this half, once on each side of the water break, to widen the lead
to 5-1. That would be more than enough, as they WHYSA girls would
end the game with only 6 shots on goal, as FC Sarasota cruised to
another "W" in the win column. |
