Lightning Game 1

Samantha's indoor soccer team took the field for their first game of the 2018 winter season tonight, facing off against the Martians Maze team from Goodrich. This game got off to a slow start for Holly, as they quickly found themselves down three goals. They finally settled in defensively, and stopped the bleeding for a while. It took nearly 20 minutes, but Holly finally found an answer and added two goals in two minutes, making it a 3-2 game. The Martians would tack on another goal two minutes after that, widening the gap once again. The Martians were called for a foul that resulted in a penalty kick, which Sam took. She was able to read the goalkeepers moves, and slipped the ball past her to make it a 4-3 game. It was beginning to look like that score would stand, but the Holly girls scored the game tying goal with two minutes to play. They even had a couple of chances to grab the lead, but just couldn't convert. Considering the early hole, the 4-4 tie wasn't a bad outcome!
