Storm Game 3

The girls from Holly took on their regular season arch-rivals, the Tigers from Fenton. Holly gave up the early goal in this one, but settled in and played the girls from Fenton tough. The two teams marched up and down the field, but neither team was able to get much in the way of quality scoring chances. There were plenty of fouls called, though, as both teams ended up with a couple of penalty kicks. In each of the instances, the goalkeepers stepped up and did what they had to do - make the saves. Holly kept fighting, and managed to score the tying goal with just over 10 minutes to play. It looked like that was how the game was going to end, but Fenton scored on an improbable deflection off of Samantha's foot to make it a 2-1 game. A fluke goal with a minute to play (the ball squeezed in over the Holly keeper's shoulder into the upper corner of the net) made it a 3-1 game in favor of Fenton, and that is how this match would end.
