Drew got his first taste of the Holly-Fenton rivalry today, as
he and his Bronchos teammates travelled to Fenton to take on the
Tigers. The game got off to a tough start, as the Bronchos were
struggling to get into their offense thanks to some Fenton pressure
defense. Fenton would hold the lead when the first quarter ended, up
by a 10-6 margin. Fenton was up 12-10 when Drew checked in to the
game for the first time in the second quarter as the 3:17 mark. By
the time he returned to the bench with 22.2 seconds left, Holly was
ahead 18-14. Drew didn't make a statistical mark in the quarter, but
he did put the pressure on defensively to do his part.
Holly would put the pressure on in the third, widening their lead
further. Drew played four minutes of the quarter, and grabbed three
rebounds during that time while doing some more quality work on
defense. Holly would widen their lead from 4 to 10 during the
quarter, and would head into the fourth with momentum on their side.
Holly would further widen their lead in the fourth, taking it
from 10 to 17. Drew would only play a minute in the quarter, but he
would grab an additional rebound during that time. When the final
buzzer sounded, Holly would walk away with a 39-22 victory, moving
their record to 2-2 on the season. Go Bronchos! |
