Drew and his HoneyBaked teammates took on the KV Renegades once
again this spring, this time on their home ice. After suffering
defeat in their previous matchup, the HoneyBaked team was hoping for
a better outcome this time. Unfortunately the Renegades got on the
board first, scoring on a 2 on 1 opportunity to grab the early lead.
Just over a minute later, the HB players were handed a power play
chance, and they were able to take advantage of the extra man, as
they won a scramble in front of the net, tying the game at 1-1. That
score would hold for the rest of the first period. The second
period didn't go how the HoneyBaked team would have liked, as they
were handed a two minute penalty that also came with a ten minute
misconduct (a 2+10). The Renegades were able to score on their man
advantage, reclaiming their lead. They would score again less than a
minute later to take a two goal lead. The HoneyBaked team avoided
another 2+10 situation, as Drew found himself in the box this time
(though nobody could really say what his infraction was). In fact,
they were once again able to benefit from the man advantage, scoring
a goal with just over a minute remaining in the period. The period
would end with the HB team down 3-2.
The Renegades broke through first in the final period, grabbing a
4-2 lead. The two teams went back and forth for most of the period,
and the HB team finally broke through with a 2 on 1 of their own,
narrowing the gap to 4-3. The HoneyBaked players gave it all they
could over the final four minutes, but two last minute penalties
doomed their comeback efforts, and they would fall by that 4-3
score. |
