With several of the girls heading off to school camp next week,
tonight's game was likely going to be the final regular season game
for the Purple Heart girls (Update: It was, as the Lake Fenton team
would forfeit the game scheduled for the 12th). Thankfully the girls
got off to a fast start tonight, scoring 5 runs to start the game.
Jayden would draw a walk, but would not score before the run
allowance was reached. Linden would answer back with two runs before
the Holly girls were able shut them down. Holly would come out
strong in the second inning as well, though they would only get four
runs before the third out. Jay drew a walk in this inning as well,
but only made it to second base before the third out. The Purple
Heart girls would shut Linden out this inning.
For the third inning in a row, Holly would get out to a fast
start once again, and the maximum five runs would come across the
plate. Jay would draw her third walk of the game, but didn't make it
past first base as the limit was reached. Linden would answer back,
scoring five runs of their own, but their comeback attempt would be
thwarted by the time limit, as the Holly girls would once again
celebrate victory.
After the game, the girls were awarded trophies for being the
regular season champions. Great job, and congratulations girls! |
