Samantha and her FC Sarasota teammates took the field tonight against Kings Hammer KH Petty team from Kentucky. The Sarasota girls opened up the scoring, quickly finding the back of the net for first goal of the game. Just after the water break Sam found herself battling in the midfield, going up to head the ball, and in the process causing quite a collision with the Kentucky defender. At the time I thought it was another girl from our team, not realizing it was Sam. At the beginning of the second half, the FC Sarasota team ended up with a PK kick that resulted in a 2-0 lead. Sam consistently made plays and great passes, supporting her team as they made it a 3-0 win to round out the game.

On our way home, Sam didn't mention too much about the header other than confirming she did collide with the defender.
