Today's trip to Walt Disney World didn't exactly get off to the
start we were hoping, as the five of us stopped at Sun N' Fun to
meet up with Grandpa Gary & Grandma Terry, Great-Grandma Parrott,
and Uncle Steve. Unfortunately, there was an incident that resulted
in stitches being needed, and not all of us able to go. That
resulted in Rodney, Tara, Samantha, Drew, Jayden, and Uncle Steve
heading up this morning, with the rest of us meeting up later in the
day. Once we arrived at the Ticket and Transportation Center, we
rented a wheelchair for Steve to use, and rode the boat over to the
Magic Kingdom. Once we made it inside the Magic Kingdom we headed
back to Frontierland, where we ate lunch while waiting in line for
the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or, as Steve called it,
"Big Funder".
We next went over to Splash Mountain (or "Wet Mountain, per
Steve) to enjoy the splash of water on this hot summer day. It was
during this ride that Grandpa Gary & Grandma Terry arrived at the
park, along with Aunt Erica.
We made our way to Tomorrowland to meet up with them, as well as
use our Fastpasses for Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.
From here we split up for a pair of rides. Samantha, Jayden, and
Rodney went up to ride the Astro Orbiter, while the rest of
our group rode the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.
While we were on these rides, Space Mountain was closed
(which allowed Drew to get some cool pictures of the inside from the
PeopleMover), but it opened back up right after we were done.
Rodney, Tara, Sam, Drew, Jay, and Steve headed over to enjoy this
ride while the line was short!
Up next was another Fastpass ride, the newly reopened
Tomorrowland Speedway. This marked the first time that we have
been able to ride this ride since we've had our passes, as it has
been closed for the construction of the new Tron ride being built
nearby.
We moved on to Fantasyland next, for a quick ride on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride.
Once that was over we headed over to Mickey's PhilharMagic for a
chance to cool off in the air conditioning while enjoying the show.
We decided to make Adventureland our final stop of the day. While
there we got on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride before
moving over to another one of the Disney classics, the Jungle Cruise.
Of course the dry humor had us all laughing, but we were getting
pretty hungry after a long day, so we decided to call it a day.
We found ourselves at Outback for dinner after leaving the park.
Once we all satisfied our need for food, we called it a day and made
our way home.
As this was our last day for the summer thanks to the block out
dates, we are already looking forward to the fall when we can do it
all over again! |
