Drew and his Riverview Ice Sharks teammates headed to Clearwater
to take on the Freedom-Palm Harbor team at Clearwater Ice Arena in
their final game of the season. Unfortunately I wasn't able to
attend today's game due to work, so I don't have much of a recap to
share with you today. The first period was dominated by the Ice
Sharks, both in score and shots on goal. Despite this, it was the
Freedom-Palm Harbor team that got on the board first, scoring in
their first shot of the game. Riverview stormed back with three
straight goals to take the lead, with the third tally coming off of
Drew's stick on a nice slapshot. Freedom-Palm Harbor would score
just 13 seconds after Drew's goal to make it a 3-2 game, but the Ice
Sharks would come back with an answer of their own just 9 seconds
later, making it a 4-2 game going into the first intermission.
The Ice Sharks dominated the second period pretty much throughout
the entire thirteen minutes. They outshot Freedom-Palm Harbor 10-3,
and scored the periods only three goals (Tara said it should have
been four goals, but the ref waved one off when he blew his whistle
early). The period would end with Riverview up by a 7-2 score.
The final period was shortened to seven minutes due to time
constraints, and this period was entirely controlled by Riverview.
They would tack on two more goals, making the final score 9-2. Way
to go Ice Sharks! |
