Game 4

Drew and his Riverview Ice Sharks teammates took on the Newsome Wolves white squad in tonight's contest, facing off in the TGH Ice Plex spring league. The two teams played a pretty close game throughout the first period. Despite being outshot 10-5 in the opening period, it appeared that the opening twelve minutes would go scoreless. Unfortunately, with just 15 seconds left to play, the Newsome team was able to pounce on a rebound and tap it through the Riverview goalie's pads. The Ice Sharks would find themselves down 1-0 heading into the second.

After scoring late in the first period, the Newsome Wolves would find the back of the net early in the second. Just 45 seconds in they would jump on another rebound, this one a big carom that they were able to slap in to grab a 2-0 score. The two teams would battle back and forth for the remainder of the period, trading scoring opportunities. The Sharks were outshot once again, but they managed to limit the damage for the majority of the period. Unfortunately another late goal would deepen their deficit, as the Wolves were able to find the back of the net on a wrist shot after a pass from behind the goal. With less than 15 seconds to go, the Sharks were now down by a 3-0 score.

Like a replay of the first two periods, a late goal in the second would be followed up by an early goal in the third. This time a Wolves skater blew by Drew and managed to fire a wrister into the back of the net, making it a 4-0 score. Being down led the Ice Sharks to take some chances on offense, and it finally led them to have an advantage in shots on goal. With just over seven minutes to play one of the Riverview forwards managed to pick the pocket of a Newsome skater and headed up the ice with possession of the puck. The steal led to a wrister that found the back of the net, and narrowed the deficit to a 4-1 score. They kept firing shots on goal, but they weren't able to close the scoring gap any further. The game would come to an end with the 4-1 score standing.
