Home Up

Wednesday, July 6th, 2022

After Tara, Tyler, and Rose got home from work today, the three of them plus Jayden and I loaded in the car and headed down to Holly to check out the Cruise to Battle Alley car show. This was the first car show that I attended in quite some time regardless of location, and it was nice to get the opportunity to check things out once again. The highlight of the car show was probably seeing Grandpa Gary's 1969 Chevelle once again.

A look at the outside of Grandpa Gary's old 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle.

A look inside of the Chevelle.

A view of downtown Holly during the car show.

On June 21st of this year, a major fire tore through the Battle Alley area of Downtown Holly, completely destroying the Battle Alley Arcade Antiques shop and severely damaging Holly's historic Holly Hotel as well Andy's Place restaurant and the Holly Moose Lodge. Not much has changed since the fires, and my pictures from the area can be seen below...

The pile of rubble belonged to the former Battle Alley Arcade Antiques shop...

...while the burned out top of the building is the Holly Hotel.

Another view of the Holly Hotel.

A couple more pictures of Battle Alley Arcade Antiques...

Several streetlights that lined the alley were melted by the fire...

...as was the awning on the shop across the street...

...and the ice cream shop sign that was kitty-corner to the antiques shop.

One of the Holly murals in the intersecting alley remains unharmed.
