Jayden and eleven of her Florida Hawks teammates made it to the
game against the West Florida Flames at their home field this
afternoon. Despite the low player turnout, the girls gave it their
all. Today's game was a slow-going affair. There wasn't a lot of
shots on goal by either team during the course of the action. Jay
finally made her first appearance on the field just after the water
break in the opening half. During her time on the field, the Flames
managed a single shot on goal, which they did not score on. Jay
would stay on the field until the end of the opening half, which
would end with the score tied at 0-0.
Jayden remained on the field when the second half began, playing
through the second water break. During that time, each team had a
single scoring chance, but neither converted. It was shortly after
the water break that a goal was scored. Unfortunately for the Hawks,
it was the Flames who found the back of the net first. The game's
lone goal came on a corner kick that the Hawks just couldn't get
enough of to knock out of the box. The Flames managed to get a foot
on it, however, and drove the ball into the corner of the goal,
handing them the 1-0 lead. Jay would come out of the game following
the goal, despite her not really factoring into it. That would end
up being the lone goal of the game, as the final whistle would blow
with the score still 1-0. Tough loss for the Hawks today. |
