Game 3

Game number three for the Riverview Sharks saw them hosting the Newsome Wolves. Despite not being credited with a lot of shots on goal in the first half, it really felt like the Sharks were controlling the flow of the game for the most part. The Wolves would find themselves on the scoreboard first, outrunning the Sharks defense on a play that appeared to be offsides but went uncalled. The Riverview keeper came out to challenge for the ball, but didn't get to it in time and surrendered an easy kick into the net to make it a 1-0 game around nine minutes in. Around ten minutes later they would widen their lead on a strong individual effort as the Wolves player dribbled through the defense and fired the shot to the right of the goalkeepers leg. The 2-0 lead would last into halftime. Jayden started tonight at midfield, and played until the last couple minutes left in the half, and she made some nice plays, but the Sharks didn't get many good looks on goal.

The second half was played up and down the field, with both teams getting some nice looks at the net, but it wasn't until just under three minutes remained in the game that another goal was scored. Unfortunately, it was once again off the foot of a Newsome player, making it a 3-0 score that would hold until the final whistle. Jay once again played most of the half, starting and ending it on the bench, but playing hard during her time on the field. Although their efforts tonight didn't result in a victory, it feels like they are getting closer each time they step onto the field.
