Jayden travelled to Michigan last week to attend a Hozier concert at Pine Knob Music Theatre. I came up to spend the week with the Tara, the boys, and attend a couple of graduation functions for family and friends. While we were in the state, we decided to start touring college campuses for Jayden as she tries to make her decisions on where to go following her senior year.

Our second tour of the day was at Western Michigan University. This wasn't an official school tour - we ended up taking a self-guided tour on our own. After walking campus, WMU is probably not going to be her choice at this time. In the meantime, please enjoy some of my pictures from our tour below!

"The Seal and the Gathering Tree" - located inside the turnaround in front of the Sangren Hall pedestrian mall. This sculpture features two ringed fountains with water cascading into a reflecting pool.

"If you're happy doing what you're doing, no one can tell you that you aren't successful."

A look at the Kalamazoo State Hospital Water Tower in the distance from the Western Michigan University campus.

Arcadia Flats, WMU’s newest housing complex for upper-level and graduate students.

One of the buildings on campus that I was unable to determine what it is and what it is used for. We were most interested in and wondered about the stairs to a concrete wall.

The Lightcicles installation inside of Sangren Hall, home to the College of Education and Human Development and also housing the Department of Sociology and the Education Library.

The tower of the Kanley Memorial Chapel near the WMU Student Center.

Haenicke Hall is on the west end of the Main Campus and houses science research facilities. The building spans over the main sidewalk leading to the west end of the Main Campus.

Faunce Student Services, commonly referred to as The Birdcage, houses the offices of Student Affairs, Residence Life, Financial Aid, HIGE International Admissions, HIGE Immigration Services and the Seita Scholar Program.

The Western Michigan University seal.

This statue is known as "The Professor".

Waldo Library is the main library, located in the center of Western Michigan University's main campus.

A statue outside of the Waldo Library, known as "Campus Talk".

Jayden holding up the stories that she got from the Short Story Dispensers in the Waldo Library. These kiosks print contemporary short stories, free of charge, at the push of a button in 1, 3, and 5 minute reading times. Jay has one of each length in her hands.
