| Jayden and her Riverview Lady Sharks teammates took on the Tampa
Bay Technical Titans in Tampa tonight, facing off against a
challenging opponent. The Sharks got off to a quick start, scoring
on their first shot of the game when a Riverview defender moved into
the offensive zone and nailed a deep kick that soared over the
Titans keepers head and into the top corner of the net. Riverview
controlled the action early, and would make it a 2-0 game just two
shots later, when the Titans had a goal kick and passed it out short
to a defender which Riverview was able to steal and make a shot from
in the box that once again went over the keepers arms. Moments later
the Sharks would get another shot on goal, and thanks to some nice
passing they were able to convert on a short shot from a tough angle
just off to the right of the net, make it a 3-0 game. Though the
Sharks would get the next few shots on net, they weren't able to
widen their lead further. The Titans would score on a play where
their forward outran the Riverview defense, hitting a tough angle
shot themselves. Their goal would make it a 3-1 game, a score that
would hold until the halftime whistle.
Riverview led the charge coming out of the halftime break,
getting three straight shots on goal, with a goal coming on the
third of those. The Sharks made a nice pass across the field that
resulted in a fairly easy kick into the net, making it a 4-1 game
heading into the second half water break. The two teams would trade
scoring chances over the remainder of the contest, but there would
be not further scoring. When the final whistle blew, the Sharks had
pulled off the upset with a 4-1 victory over the Titans.
Way to go girls! Great game today! |
