Home Up

Monday, August 5th, 2024

Grandma Terry, Jayden, and I headed over to Walt Disney World. In addition to spending time in the parks, one of my main goals was to see the Disney Dreams That Soar drone show at Disney Springs, as it comes to an end in early September. We stayed at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort during our trip, and Jayden and I just spent time wandering around the various sections of the hotel after we had checked in.

A snail we spotted on the wall of the resort.

Another snail wandering around the grounds...

...that we coaxed onto Jayden's sneakers - we named it Connie (for her Converse shoes!).

After taking the snail off Jay's shoes, it left a trail on this stump.

The stairs at the Center Court section of the hotel are a can of tennis balls!

There is a giant tennis court between the various Center Court hotel buildings.

Our room was just past the giant whistles located in the Hoops Hotel area.

Once we had completed our tour of the hotel and had unpacked our stuff in our room, we headed out for dinner. We settled on Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews in Kissimmee. Dinner was good, but my last few visits to various Red Robin's have left me feeling like this chain may be on its last legs (but that's a commentary for another day).

Although the picture doesn't truly do it justice, the sunset was very pretty tonight.

After dinner we headed back to the hotel to unwind from a long day at work for both Grandma Terry and I. The weather was questionable, so we decided it wasn't worth trying to go to Disney Springs this evening (we later learned that it was cancelled, so we didn't miss anything anyway). Besides, we were tired and ready to call it a day anyway.

My bed in the room was a Murphy bed, and the photo below was the mural inside of my bed area when the bed was down.
