6/13 - Family

The Parrott family was planning to meet up at the Airbnb that Julie & Kevin rented along the shores of Lake Huron today, and I wasn't initially planning on joining them. The kids wanted to go, however, so I was more than glad to honor their wishes (unfortunately Samantha had to head back to Florida early this morning, so she was unable to join us).

None of the significant others for the kids were able to be with us yesterday for the funeral, but today Tara & I were joined by Drew, Teagan, Jayden, and Hana for the drive to Deckerville. We made a pit stop along the way, stopping at the Sanilac County Forester Campground in Carsonville. This was a spot that I spend many Fourth of July's at while growing up, at the Gough family cottage inside the park, and the kids camped at a few times when they were young. We checked out the playground area and the store before heading down the stairs to the beach, where we recreated a picture of the kids on the log that we have been taking since 2008, though at the White Rock Roadside Park in Harbor Beach.

After we wrapped up at the park, we headed to the Airbnb to meet up with the family for the rest of the day.

After leaving the campground we arrived at the campground to spend the rest of our day. We spent most of it outside, enjoying the water activities on the beach and relaxing in the sun atop the hill with our family. Tyler & Rose arrived later in the day, as Rose had to work today.
