| We arrived at Epcot and headed towards the Canada side of the
World Showcase. One our way, we stopped in CommuniCore Hall to check
out the Broadway display. Inside we saw costumes from several of
Disney's Broadway shows, including Beauty and the Beast, The Lion
King, Hercules, Aladdin, Mary Poppins, and Frozen. We then made
our way to our first Festival of the Arts food booth, Pop Eats, to
try the Grilled Cheese, which was also served with tomato soup. The
grilled cheese was pretty good, though typical grilled cheese, but
the tomato soup was definitely better that the typical Campbell's
that we usually eat! Definitely something to try again.
We made our way to the United Kingdom Pavilion for my favorite
meal, the beer-battered Fish and Chips at the Yorkshire County Fish
Shop. This meal come with my favorite french-fries in all of Walt
Disney World!
After dinner we headed over to the France Pavilion to sample the
Crème de Brie en Petit Pain (warm cream brie in a house made bread
bowl) and the Éclair au Chocolat et à l’Orange (a chocolate-orange
éclair, orange cream, chocolate ganache, crispy hazelnut, and
candied oranges) at the L'Art de la Cuisine Française booth. I liked
the éclair the most, though I was not a fan of the candied oranges
at all! Our next stop was at the Vibrante & Vivido festival booth,
where we tried the Chorizo and Potato Empanada (which came with
turmeric aïoli and annatto aïoli), which was OK to me but not
something I would rush back for.
Our next stop was at The Artist's Table for the
Peppercorn-Crusted Striploin (with grilled asparagus, potatoes au
gratin, and au poivre butter). I definitely though the striploin was
good, though I only mildly enjoyed the potatoes, as I am not a bug
fan of cheesy potatoes. Our final stop in the park was at the El
Artista Hambriento in the Mexico pavilion, where Grandma Terry
sampled the Pear-fect Margarita (featuring Calenda Mezcal Joven,
prickly pear and passion fruit purées, and LeJay Crème de Cassis,
finished with a potpourri salt rim).
We then left Epcot to head to Disney Springs. We did some
shopping and got in line for cookies at Gideon's Bakehouse, but the
cookie I was there for wasn't available except on weekends, so we
didn't stay. We ended up eating lunch at Everglazed Donuts & Cold
Brew. The three of us split a Big Chicken Combo (with included 3
jumbo tenders, fries, and a mini-glazed donut with dipping sauce for
the tenders). I have to be honest, I had a massive migraine headache
by this point, so I really can't tell you if the food was any good
or not. I was feeling nauseas and just wanted to crawl in bed.
After eating we headed to the car for the ride home. I sat in the
back with my eyes closed for 99% of the ride, but I do know we made
it home safely! I am hopeful that our next trip has a better ending! |
