Tuesday, March 10th, 2026

After seeing the Festival of the Lion King show, we made our way back to Discovery Island, where we headed to the Tree of Life Theater to see the Zootopia: Better Zoogether! show. This was the first time that I have seen it since the Passholder preview back in November of last year, and obviously the first time Aunt Sherry has seen it. She jumped so hard at some of the 3-D effects that her sunglasses fell off her head, and she was not impressed by the rodents scurrying under her seat, but she did enjoy the show. I was not impressed after my initial viewing, but maybe I was expecting too much that first time, because I didn't think the show was too bad following my second viewing.

With the Zootopia show under our belt, we headed back towards Asia to watch yet another show, this time we caught the Feathered Friends in Flight! I have always enjoyed this bird show, and today was no different. Always a pleasurable experience!

At this point of the day, and with the remaining rides that we would be interested in doing having long wait times, we decided to head out for the day. We stopped off at the Discovery Trading Company and Island Mercantile shops on our way so that Grandma Terry and Aunt Sherry could do some browsing, then we were on our way out.

We did stop at the park entrance to get a picture of Aunt Sherry with her first Passholder magnet, and she wanted pictures with me as well, so I obliged. Picture taking complete, we were on our way, with a stop for dinner our next stop before our final destination for the day - home!

The white-necked raven that appeared before the show began...

...and recycled a bottle that was left near the stage.

The first bird to appear as part of the show was this black crowned crane...

...which showcased a large wingspan...

A trumpeter hornbill also made an appearance...

This great horned owl flew through the audience, but this was the best picture I could get of it!

Thankfully their set didn't have a rat problem due to the hunting prowess of the owl!

This yellow-naped Amazon sang a verse from a couple of different songs for the audience!

This giant marabou stork also flew above the audience, but was difficult to photograph in flight...

They brought out a bald eagle for us to see towards the end of the show...

...as well as this blue-throated macaw...

...and this toco toucan.

We spotted the southern giant anteater pacing near the exit of its habitat as we exited the park today.

We stopped for dinner at Texas Roadhouse in Davenport on our way home tonight after having an early lunch in the park. Here is a shot of the sunset as we made our way home after dinner along I-4 in Lakeland.
