Game 2

Another game against another travel team, with similar results. For a while it actually seemed like the Grey team might stand a chance against this team, but it was their bats that let them down. They managed to hold the team fro Macomb to just 2 runs in each of the first two innings, but without anyone getting a hit they just couldn't compete. By the third inning it was the pitching and defense that left them, as they allowed 5 runs. By the time the fourth inning came, all the Macomb team needed was a single run to complete the mercy, which they easily managed. Like last game Samantha only batted once, but this time she managed to foul off a couple of pitches before breaking through with a single. Another tough game to watch, as the Grey team was eliminated from the tournament with a 10-0 loss, moving them to the consolation game later today.

	...but driving the ball foul.
	Sam hung in tough during her at-bat...
	...swinging at another good pitch...
	...but once again the ball landed foul.
	Finally Sam saw the perfect pitch...
	and she sent the ball through the infield...
	...and as she approached first she had to avoid not only the player blocking the base...
	...but the errant throw as well...
	...before being called safe at the base.
	Sam took off for second...
	...and came in with the successful steal...
	...and even looked to steal third before realizing it wasn't an option this time.
