			| Today's ceremony brought the 60th annual
CANUSA games to a close after a great weekend of competition and
bonding between players and countries. As is typically the case, the closing ceremony was a
far less formal event than the opening ceremony two days earlier.
The athletes and parents mingled together while thanks were made and
trophies were handed out. The Flint U10 hockey team won one game and
tide the other, the U12 hockey team swept
their series, while the U14 team ended up going
0-2. It would seem, based on the standings, that Flint would have
won this event by a 3-2-1 score, but through some weird tie-breaker
the visiting team gets credit for the tie game, giving them a tie in
the standings, which again is given to the visiting team. That meant that Hamilton won the ice hockey event
this year. In the overall games standings, the Americans beat the
Canadians by a score of 9-2. Once the presentations were over we
handed Lucas back over to his parents and Canadian counterparts as
we said our goodbyes and headed home. |
